Thinking about experiencing art, we often search among memories of secluded aesthetic spaces, such as galleries, theaters, concert halls, or specific masterpieces of architecture. On the other hand, it’s often the art-like daily experiences that create a long-lasting effect on us.
What if we ditch the gatekeeping and have a horizontal discussion about the aesthetic moments in our lives that aren’t necessarily archived in museums? Which pieces of art have shaped your inner sensual world and aesthetic perception growing up (e.g. the smell of grandma’s apron after she finished baking on Sunday afternoons, the graffities near the train tracks, or the shapes and colors of the school bus seat)? Of course, you are welcome to bring in examples of paintings and music pieces as well.
Join us for an evening of sharing about the artistic pieces and occurrences that are meaningful to us and have shaped us culturally and/or aesthetically. Bring some of these with you in order to share it with others (as a print to show / an image to project, a soundtrack to play or a story to listen to and imagine).
Arrival: 18.45, Start: 19.00 – Please be on time if you can - if not, you are welcome to arrive later and join in
